Restoring My Faith in Major League Sports - When Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Two recent events involving two of my favorite local sports teams have left me speechless. Mouth agape. I mean chin-hit-the-floor kinda reaction. I know what you're thinking? You? Speechless? Unbelievable!

But come on, hear me out now.

The first involves an incident that truly shocked everyone who heard about it. A young, talented, highly paid football player for the New England Patriots was arrested for...MURDER! So bizarre. He's accused of murdering, execution style, a close friend. Wow...just wow. (If that's how he treats friends, I bet his enemies must be quite relieved he's locked up...no telling what he would have done to them.)

And then...the part that impressed me...

If It's May, It Must Be Time For An Update.....

May. Such a special month. It ushers in images of flowers and feelings of warmth. Winter is a just a lonely cold figure in the rear-view mirror. Sunny days and beach outings are up ahead, around the bend.

Normally, it's a time when my mood is lifted. Life is good.

Normally.

But things aren't so normal anymore.

B STRONG - A Hope For Mankind

Sometimes in the darkest hours, I am encouraged when I see
mankind lift themselves above evil and hatred.
When I see my fellow man join together in solidarity of optimism.
Of goodness.
Of selflessness.
When what's truly important in this life comes into focus, into perspective.


I am hopeful.
