The Boys Are Back! Red Sox Strong!!
I'll admit it. In all honesty and full disclosure...I had written off the boys up at Fenway Park. As a lifelong diehard Red Sox fan, I was sorely disappointed with the reported shenanigans in the clubhouse. I used to be so proud of them...win or lose. It was how you played the game, right? It was how you conducted yourself and acted like part of the team...no "I" in team, right? I just couldn't bring myself to care anymore. If they didn't, I reasoned, why should I?

My Backyard - 6 Reasons to Love the Pawtucket Red Sox
Baseball. It's part of our heritage. As American as apple pie.
The stadiums the boys of summer play in vary from city to city. Small quaint historical playing fields like Fenway. State of the art contemporary Marlins Park. Each team puts its own local flavor on their home. Though I've enjoyed games in many minor and major league parks, in my opinion one of the best places to watch the old pastime lies only a few miles from my hometown. In Pawtucket. McCoy Stadium. Home of baseball's longest game. Home to the AAA minor league affiliate for the best team in the majors, the Boston Red Sox. The reigning International League Champs.
Peanuts. Cracker Jack.
Balls and Strikes. Gloves and Bats.
Three Outs. Nine Innings.
I love the game. All my friends and family know I'm a lifelong fan. I've been to many a ballgame, both in my backyard and around the country. Nothing like kicking back and enjoying a bit of Americana on a warm, summer afternoon.

Rebirth of Boston - Peter Pan and the Red Sox Lead the Way
Enough has been written to fill dozens of volumes. We've heard and read every angle of every story to come out of the recent tragedy in Boston, an event that will take its place in the annals of U.S. history. TV. Radio. Online. Newspapers. Magazines. They've reported on every minute detail.
I don't think there's a need for yet another blogger (i.e. Me) to lament, rant, rehash and pick apart what happened on that fateful day at the Marathon and its aftermath. We all know. We have formed our opinions. We have speculated on what will come out of all this.
So instead I'll tell you about my week. Three events I've attended in Boston in the past week. And what I've observed.
